However, as much as we would like to linger longer, we know that the cherry blossoms on this campus have a short lifespan. Next week, they will begin to wither away, marking the end of their brief but magical season.

As a foreigner living in the  city of Chungju, it is important to be aware of the laws and regulations in the area. To feel safe and secure, it is necessary to have the support of the local authorities. Fortunately, the police in this city are extremely welcoming and helpful towards foreigners. Recently, I had the opportunity to meet my student , a police officer named  Lee, Song won ( 이성원 in Korean language) or James as his English name ,who informed me that as a foreigner, I have the right to report any crimes that I witness or experiences I may have. This was a relief for me, as I had been concerned about my safety in the country. I was pleased to know that the police department was making an effort to accommodate the foreign population in Chungju. He gave me detailed instructions on how to report a crime, including the contact information for the local police department.
